Aztreonam/avibactam is a combination of aztreonam and avibactam developed by AbbVie for "complicated Gram-negative infections".[1][2][3] Drug resistance to the combination has been reported.[4]

In March 2024, the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) adopted a positive opinion, recommending the granting of a marketing authorization for the medicinal product Emblaveo, intended for the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal and urinary tract infections, hospital-acquired pneumonia and infections due to aerobic Gram-negative organisms in people with limited treatment options.[5] The applicant for this medicinal product is Pfizer Europe MA EEIG.[5]
