Sokolnice (German: Sokolnitz) is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,300 inhabitants.
Sokolnice lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) south-east of Brno and 198 km (123 mi) south-east of Prague.
History
The first written mention of Sokolnice is from 1408.[2]
